Sleep for Health
by Alice McCall
Sleep played a
huge role in my self-healing journey with breast cancer, and I make
sure it is still a priority in my life for my health, vitality, and
wellbeing.
Why was
sleep, one of the most basic human needs, included in my top three
healing priorities?
Because when faced
with a major health issue, it is critically important to honor and
support your body’s healing with lots of rest and lots of sleep.
Why? Your body best heals when it sleeps. Your body has the ability
to rebound and heal, if you allow it to do so.
Even if you are
not sick, sleep is still important, as lots of bodily function, only
occur when you are asleep! It is one of the most important things
you can do for your body’s health. Did you know that during deep
sleep, growth hormone production is at its peak? And that it plays a
big role in your immune system?
(Learn more about the restorative nature of sleep and all that is
does to keep your body healthy in Wellness Wisdom - order

natural killer cells necessary to ward off disease dramatically
decrease. We want those cells healthy to keep us healthy!
